ABC’s Givin’ Kaitlin Olson (Dee) Her Own Detective Show, High Potential

Alright, so check this out: ABC, right? They’re all over this thing. They’re givin’ the green light to this show called High Potential, and it’s got Kaitlin Olson in it.

You know her, she’s the one who’s always bossin’ me around at Paddy’s. Anyway, she’s playin’ a single mom who’s also a private eye when the sun goes down, according to this thing I found on TVLine.

So, this High Potential thing, it’s like a copy of some French show that’s real popular. Olson, who you definitely know from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Dee) or possibly The Mick, is playin’ this lady named Morgan.

She’s a single mom, right, but she’s got this crazy smart brain that’s real good at crackin’ cases. She teams up with this by-the-book detective dude, and they’re like, unstoppable or something. That’s what the official thing says, anyway.

High Potential with Dee

This guy Daniel Sunjata from Graceland is the detective, and there’s a bunch of other people in it too, like Javicia Leslie from Batwoman, Judy Reyes from Claws, Deniz Akdeniz from The Flight Attendant, Amirah J from Shameless, and this Matthew Lamb guy.

And get this, High Potential is the only new show ABC’s said yes to for the 2023-24 TV season so far. So, you know, it’s gotta be pretty good, right?

Frank’s thoughts…

Hold on, hold on, Charlie. You’re missin’ the big picture here. This ain’t just about some single mom playin’ detective. This is about the underdog, the little guy, the one nobody expects to make it big.

This Morgan chick, she’s got the brains, sure, but she’s also got the guts. She’s out there, in the trenches, fightin’ the good fight. And this detective guy, he’s probably some washed-up old cop who’s seen it all. But together, they’re gonna clean up the streets, one case at a time. It’s like a gritty version of those old buddy cop movies. Now that’s a show I’d watch.

Dennis’s thoughts…

Oh, please. You two are missing the real appeal here. It’s not about the crime-solving or the underdog story. It’s about Kaitlin Olson. She’s a powerhouse, a force to be reckoned with. She’s going to bring a level of sophistication and wit to this show that’s going to elevate it beyond your typical detective drama.

And let’s not forget the sexual tension that’s bound to develop between her and this detective. That’s what’s going to keep people coming back week after week. It’s all about the chemistry, gentlemen.

Alright, alright, so we got Frank’s take, we got Dennis’ take, and you know what, they both got some points. But here’s the thing, guys. This show, High Potential, it’s got Kaitlin Olson, and she’s real good, you know? She’s funny, she’s smart, and she’s gonna make this thing worth watchin’.

Plus, there’s gonna be all this crime stuff, and who doesn’t love a good mystery, right? And if Dennis is right about the whole sexual tension thing, well, that could be interesting too. So, yeah, I’d say this show’s got a lot goin’ for it. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
